World Mobile, a pioneer in blockchain-based mobile networks, has joined forces with DITO CME, a leading telecommunications provider in the Philippines, to address the connectivity gap in rural areas. This collaboration leverages World Mobile's decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) and blockchain technology to deliver affordable, high-speed internet access to millions of Filipinos currently without reliable connectivity.

The partnership utilizes World Mobile AirNodes, some of which are powered by Starlink's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite backhaul, to extend coverage to underserved regions. This initiative targets the estimated 25 million Filipinos who lack access to dependable internet services, ensuring inclusivity and empowerment through connectivity.

Introducing DTaka: Blockchain-Enabled Financial Inclusion

Central to this collaboration is the launch of DTaka, a blockchain-powered e-wallet platform designed to drive financial inclusion. Built on the World Mobile Chain, DTaka features a dual-token system, offering stable-token functionality for secure remittances and mobile money services, alongside a utility token for engagement activities such as gamification and loyalty rewards.

This innovative platform aims to provide a seamless and secure alternative to traditional financial services, enabling greater access to digital financial tools for underserved populations. By integrating blockchain technology, DTaka empowers users with enhanced security, speed, and control over their financial transactions.
