In a move towards broader cryptocurrency adoption, the Swiss city of Lugano now permits the payment of taxes and other municipal invoices using Bitcoin and the Tether stablecoin. Payments can be made by scanning a QR code available on standard Swiss invoices. This initiative aligns Lugano with other Swiss jurisdictions like Zug and Zermatt, which also accept cryptocurrency payments.
