Uranium Finance, an automated market maker protocol operating on the BNB chain, suffered a severe security breach during a protocol upgrade. A bug in its smart contract allowed attackers to drain nearly the entire liquidity pool. The platform, a fork of SushiSwap, ceased operations after the hack due to vulnerabilities stemming from improper code adaptation.
The perpetrator used crypto mixer Tornado Cash and "Magic: The Gathering" trading cards to launder the stolen funds, as uncovered by blockchain investigator ZachXBT.
