Arbitrum's Record-Breaking Performance

Arbitrum, a layer 2 blockchain designed to enhance Ethereum's scalability, has achieved a new milestone in daily active transactions. This development underscores Arbitrum's growing role in addressing Ethereum's scalability challenges. As the most significant layer two on Ethereum, Arbitrum employs roll-up technology and boasts a total value locked (TVL) exceeding $1 billion.

Expanding Ecosystem and Market Share

Currently, Arbitrum supports 184 protocols, including prominent platforms like GMX, Aave, and Uniswap. Its market presence is substantial, ranking fifth among all layer 1 and layer 2 blockchains, with a 3% share of TVL across all chains. This represents a notable increase from a 1% share just a year ago. The growth of the Arbitrum ecosystem, particularly applications like the GMX perpetual exchange, has contributed significantly to this expansion.

Ethereum's Current Trading Status

In the broader cryptocurrency landscape, Ethereum (ETH) is trading at $1,694.49, reflecting a 1.91% price increase over the last 24 hours. Over the past week, Ethereum has seen a gain of more than 11%. However, it has weakened against Bitcoin (BTC) by about 1.48% in the last day. Ethereum's 24-hour trading volume has also decreased, standing at approximately $8.99 billion, marking a decline of over 22%.
